What’s the Buzz About Clean?

How to Make Healthier, Safer, Smarter Choices Today

  • What does “clean” mean?

A "clean" product is one that is free from harmful toxins and chemicals that negatively impact both our health and the environment.

These substances include carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxins, and other chemicals linked to serious health concerns like cancer, reproductive issues, and developmental delays.

Clean products prioritize natural, non-toxic, and eco-friendly ingredients that are safe for you and the planet.

By choosing clean products, you minimize exposure to harmful chemicals and make healthier choices for yourself and the environment

  • What does “non-toxic” or “low-toxic burden” mean?

A "toxic-free" or "low toxic burden" lifestyle focuses on reducing exposure to harmful toxins and chemicals.

This involves making mindful choices about the products we use, the food we eat, and the environments we live in. By selecting low-toxic products, we decrease the amount of harmful substances entering our bodies and lower our toxic burden.

Adopting a toxic-free lifestyle improves overall health, lowers the risk of chronic diseases, and contributes to creating healthier generations in the future.

  • What is holistic health?

Holistic health is an approach to wellness that looks at the whole person—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It recognizes that physical health is just one part of overall well-being.

Instead of only treating symptoms, holistic health focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of health issues. It encourages individuals to take an active role in their health by making lifestyle choices that support their overall well-being.

Holistic health practitioners use a variety of therapies and techniques to help clients improve their health. By adopting a holistic approach, individuals can enhance their well-being, prevent chronic diseases, and improve their quality of life.

  • What does a clean and low-toxic lifestyle look like?

A clean and low toxic burden lifestyle includes:

    - Choosing natural, non-toxic personal care and cleaning products

    - Eating organic, whole foods while avoiding processed and packaged foods

    - Reducing exposure to toxins and chemicals in everyday home and self-care products

    - Opting for eco-friendly and sustainable products

    - Practicing stress-reducing activities like meditation, yoga, or Pilates

    - Exercising to support the fascia and lymphatic system in the body

  • What are the benefits of a clean & non-toxic lifestyle?

Improved health and well-being: Reducing exposure to harmful toxins and chemicals enhances overall health and lowers the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, reproductive issues, and developmental delays.

Increased energy and vitality: Clean, non-toxic products are made with natural, nutrient-rich ingredients that boost energy levels and vitality.

Environmental sustainability: Choosing eco-friendly and sustainable products helps reduce environmental impact, supporting a healthier planet.

Improved mental clarity and focus: Reducing exposure to toxins and chemicals can improve mental clarity, focus, and reduce symptoms of brain fog and memory loss.

Better sleep: Clean, non-toxic products are free from chemicals that interfere with sleep patterns and contribute to insomnia.

And these are just a few of the benefits—the list goes on and on!

  • Where should I start if I want to start making cleaner swaps?

I personally started by swapping out the items I use every day. As I ran out of my old products, I replaced them with clean alternatives.

A few of the first items I swapped were my kitchen oils, oral care products, pillowcases, and deodorant/perfumes. Without even realizing it, I was already using clean skincare, so that was naturally on my list too!

No matter where you begin, the key is being mindful of what you’re putting in and on your body. It doesn’t happen overnight, and the transition can be challenging, but the most important thing is remembering to prioritize your health. After all, without your health, what can you really do?
